Tara Roberts is a 20 year veteran of healthcare leadership positions and is currently employed as a quality risk manager for a 38 bed surgical hospital in the New Orleans area. She demonstrates a strong commitment to sustained quality outcomes for patients, while ensuring a safe and mentoring environment for the organizations staff. Tara received her bachelors degree in nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 1991 and returned to USM for a masters in nursing/business administration graduating in 1995. Tara achieved CPHQ status in 2014. She is a certified case reviewer through the American College of Surgeons and successfully completed the ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor training course. As a faculty member for the University of Phoenix, Tara is able to share not only her healthcare related management knowledge, but her passion for the healthcare delivery system with students pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration. She firmly believes that the future of healthcare resides with maintaining a workforce that understands their impact to patient outcomes. As 4 year faculty member at the the University of Phoenix, Tara is involved in programmatic assessment for the Louisiana campuses and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion of health care. She is involved with faculty engagement activities completed the 2013-2014 Academic Leadership Institute 9-month course. Nominated by her peers and students as the Metairie LC Faculty of the year, Tara enjoys teaching....and learning from her students.
